From 1968-70, I designed and built a 25-foot-high hand-crafted 80-string
wooden Aeolian Wind Harp on a mountaintop in Vermont,
USA.

Here
is a view of the Harp at the top of the hill (right)...
The main beams were Oak, and were chosen and logged
in Maine, cut to size and I drove them to Vermont for assembly.

| The
main sounding box was clear, high-grade redwood, ship-lapped
and screwed together with 1,500 bronze screws - The
top steel crosspiece resembles a "kingfisher" bird,
and was cut to shape by a German company. |
-
United Artist Records recorded the wind harp "music" on
site and released it as an album "The Wind Harp."
